Malt whisky from the Jacopo Poli di Schiavon distillery. It was there that the first Italian whisky was born, aged in Amarone wine barrels.
This is the new edition of Poli, a few bottles, all numbered and each in an elegant wooden case. The idea for an Italian single malt whisky was born in 2013 and with patience, it came to fruition in 2021. After many months of work, the most flavorful and suitable barley for malting was selected, which malting is carried out under the control and with the collaboration of leading experts. Then, the Poli family modified and adapted the still so that the distillation process does not alter the aromas of the malt. The long aging in the distillery’s cellars in the Schiavon area – in barrels that had previously been used for the famous Amarone wine – combined with the warm climate in summer and the very cold in winter, gave it an international character but always with Italian finesse present.
For the first bottling in 2021, a specially treated glass was chosen for the bottle and a quality wooden packaging, to emphasize the exclusivity of the product. For the same reason, all the bottles produced are numbered. The name given to the whisky is a tribute to the man who, originally from Schiavon, became Segretario di Stato della Santa Sede (Chamberlain of State of the Holy See in the Vatican) in 2013. In addition to the name Segretario di Stato, the map of St. Peter’s Basilica adorns the packaging and label of this exceptional whisky. Its quality and limited edition will surely make it a hit with collectors around the world.
